Towards the end of my graphic design fellowship at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, all the fellows were tasked with mentoring high school students in producing their own theater show. These students learned the ins and outs of play planning, set design, marketing, and more to appreciate the effort required to bring their productions to life. The Teen One Acts Festival, a late spring/early summer tradition at BRT (Berkeley Repertory Theatre), featured three plays: Dream Collector (written by Zeke Gerwein, directed by Ben Levine), Oneironauts (written by Eleanor Boes, directed by Naseem Avali), and Help Wanted: A Witness (written by Nandi Maunder, directed by Marina Carlstroem). In my role as a design fellow, I contributed by creating social media graphics, t-shirts, and posters to help these students realize their creative visions.
