learn more about me

Being Deaf with bilateral cochlear implants means I’m wired to catch the little things — those tiny, in-between moments full of meaning that most people might miss. That unique perspective colors everything I create, whether I’m whipping up bold graphics for nonprofits and arts groups like Marin Shakespeare Company and the Dayton Art Institute, or telling stories through my photography and video work.

I’m all about capturing real, honest moments — from the energy of live theatre and portraits that reveal personality, to spontaneous snapshots and thoughtful visual stories. I’ve had the pleasure of working with amazing organizations like the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance, Beavercreek Community Theatre, Sweibel Arts Innovation & Leadership, and Sinclair Community College. Some of my favorite video projects include the projection film for Ride the Cyclone and the chill, poetic Jim Dwyer Poetry Loft Session series that blends words and visuals in a soft, meaningful way. At the end of the day, I want my work to feel genuine, spark connection, and stick with you long after you see it.

Kirsten’s ability to capture live theatre on camera is unparalleled. Over the past few years, she has worked on multiple shows for us, and everyone marvels at the dynamic quality she creates with her photography. Her work beautifully highlights the colors, shadows, and emotions of each scene in our productions. The publicity generated by her professional images has undoubtedly made a positive impact at Beavercreek Community Theatre.

Kirsten's natural artistry, augmented by her understanding of theatre and what goes into creating truly compelling theatrical images, helped make our production photos stand out from the crowd.

Kirsten took couples portraits for me and my partner. We had seen some of her previous work and knew she had a great eye — but wow — we were blown away. During the shoot, she made us both feel completely comfortable and we had so much fun! In moments we did not know what to do — she would make us laugh or give us great pose ideas. She is professional and personable. We received our photos very quickly after and were in love with the product. Her vision for each shot really came to life in the photos and she captured our essence, perfectly. There is an absolute art to each of her images. We can’t wait to get photos by Kirsten done again!!

Kirsten did an amazing job capturing some of our biggest family moments so far! She took the sweetest photos of our new born baby capturing her innocent and sweetness! She recently took one year old cake smash photos that truly captured our baby's personality! She was wonderful with the baby and such a pleasure to work with! Can’t wait to see what other family moments she will capture for us in the future!
